Ms. Duarte currently manages a wide range of immigration matters including family-based petitions, applications for permanent residency, asylum, consular processing, U-Visas and removal defense as an Associate Attorney with McVey Mullery & Dulberg.
Ms. Duarte received her Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law (TJSL) in San Diego, CA and her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from San Francisco State University. While in Law School she was the managing editor of TJSL’s Law Review, president of the Family Law Society and a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team.
Ms. Duarte’s interest in helping immigrant communities started at an early age. She was raised by immigrant parents in the Salinas Valley where there is a large immigrant population.
Before joining our firm Ms. Duarte worked as a criminal defense and immigration attorney at a firm in Oakland and interned at the Public Defender’s office in San Diego. She also volunteered at the International Institute of the Bay Area in Oakland and at TJSL’s legal clinics, where she helped indigent clients.
Ms. Duarte is admitted to practice law in California. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association and the California Bar Association.
