         TPS Update

Countries (or parts thereof) which are currently designated under the TPS program are listed below:
  • Burundi: TPS status is designated through November 2, 2007. Work authorization is extended until May 2, 2007.
  • El Salvador: TPS designated through March  9, 2009. Filing periods for this extension have not yet begun. Work authorization auto-extended until March 9, 2008.
  • Honduras: DHS announced 18 month TPS extension through January 5, 2009. See USCIS Press Release. Re-registration begins May 29, 2007 and ends July 30, 2007. Work authorization auto-extended through January 5, 2008.
  • Liberia: The designation for TPS for Liberia has been terminated effective October 1, 2007. The re-registration period ended November 20, 2006.
  • Nicaragua: DHS announced 18 month TPS extension through January 5, 2009. See USCIS Press Release. Re-registration begins May 29, 2007 and ends July 30, 2007. Work authorization auto-extended through January 5, 2008.
  • Somalia: TPS status is designated through March 17, 2008. Last re-registration period ended September 25, 2006.
  • Sudan: TPS status is designated through November 2, 2008. Last re-registration period ended May 7, 2007. Work authorization auto-extended through November 7, 2007.
